A MUST-SEE SITE FOR MAGAZINE WRITERS!

KidMagWriters.com seeks to fill an information gap in children's writing. So many sites and children's writing publication have very basic material about magazine writing, sprinkled in with their main focus -- book writing. On KidMagWriters.com, magazine writing is our main focus. So we have editor interviews, technique articles, and market assistance (including a growing online market guide) and support for children's magazine writers. KidMagWriters.com was founded and is edited by Jan Fields.

Writer's Market has been the freelance writer's Bible since 1921, providing market contact information, pay rates, submission guidelines, and more, but now it's available online! The subscription costs $2.99 per month, or $29.99 per year, and it's well worth the price. I use this service every week to shop new book and magazine markets.

Writer's Digest Magazine's Website spotlights a different market every day, as well as information on their many contests.

Chicken Writer has all sorts of searchable markets here for all levels of freelancers.

The Children's Book Council has a fantastic resource list of publishers, complete with their editors' names and addresses, and current editorial needs. This is definitely worth taking a look at if you've got a children's manuscript you want to start marketing.
